Every teacher knows some. Most wives are married to one. What am I talking about?

Some people never learn to cook a decent meal, no matter how much they try. Most men don’t put down the toilet seat, no matter how often their wives complain. And some pupils will never understand the simplest maths.

These are what we call “hopeless cases”. There is simply no hope that they will ever learn something, even with great effort, no matter how often you try to teach them, or how often you complain about something. Even our hero Hägar the Horrible is one…
