Today’s expression: “The grass is always greener on the other side”

31 Mar

We often think that someone else has a better life, or a better situation, than we have. But is it really true? If you could have their situation, would it really be better?

The expression “the grass is always greener on the other side” is normally said in an ironic way – in other words, it tells us that it is often an illusion: from the outside, we think that another situation looks better. But if we go there, we might discover that it isn’t really so.
